Meet the Authors

Alex Antal
             Alex lives in Marlton, New Jersey. He is retired, but spends his time buying and selling postcards and other kinds of paper memorabilia - sheet music is one of Alex's specialties.
Denis Castelli
             Editor of the Taconic Postcard Club newsletter: TPC Matters. Denis collects postcards, ephemera and collateral material from Putnam and Westchester counties in New York. Other interests include Stengel and Sborgi postcards; pre-1940 Borden Milk Company postcards and trade cards, and postcards relating to the New York City water supply.
            Denis is also on the board of trustees/directors of several historical and community nonprofit organizations, including The Southeast Museum (http://www.SoutheastMuseum.org), the Putnam County Land Trust (http://www.PCLT.net) and the North Salem Historical Society (NSHS). He is a cofounder and board member of Concerned Residents of Southeast (CRSE) and the Putnam Smart Growth Alliance (PSGA).
Emily DiVento
             Emily lives in Philadelphia. She is retired and has been a member of South Jersey Post Card Club for more than thirty years.
Pilar Dowle
            Pilar is a native of Spain married to a native of the United Kingdom. Pilar and her husband moved to Spain about two years ago after living in England for more than 25 years. They now live in a small village 40 miles north of Barcelona with pet dogs and a cat. Pilar enjoys taking the dogs for long walks in the woods and scouring the flea markets looking for old postcards.

Ray Hahn

            Ray is a retired high school librarian from Millville, New Jersey. He and his wife Marie have one daughter, Megan, who works as an archivist at the University of California in Los Angeles. They enjoy travel, classical music, reading, TV, and dinners out with friends.
            Ray is a longtime member of the South Jersey Post Card Club and his primary post card interests include:

  • Artist drawn cards of major world cities especially, New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, London, Paris, Cairo and a dozen others.
  • Cards that show people working at unusual occupations.
  • Cards published by the French publisher Lucien Levy - LL.
  • Poster style cards from the French Railroad Network - Chemin de fer
Don Pocher
            Don lives in Cape May, New Jersey. He is an active antiques and post card dealer. Don is a member of the South Jersey Post Card Club and a past-president. Don has a keen interest in post cards showing light ships.
